Malbert Inn Hotel Today
A little over a decade since owner Josephine Mawutor Ndinyah first reinvented the landmark Malbertinn Hotel, creating what is known today as the unofficial epicenter of Sebrepor, 2018 marked a time for “the history” (as she often refers to the building) to get a facelift. Josephine Mawutor Ndinyah embarked on a refresh of the hotel and common areas with her personal touch; with the goal of restoring its heart and soul while not compromising the character of such an iconic building.
Josephine’s proudest accomplishment was the opening of the DADA KITIWA RESTAURANT and TATA KWADZO ARBORETUM GARDEN in 2005 soon after she bought the property to honor Malwine “Dada” Kitiwa Ndinyah (Mom) and Albert “Tata” Kwadzo Ndinyah (Dad). Following its enormous success, the latest renovation plans were created so that the rest of the hotel could keep up with the quality and popularity. The style is subtle, chic, understated, and elegant. Design highlights include a leisure center, event center, a swimming pool, snooker table, a reimagined restaurant, and an updated pool area- with its quintessential Sabrepor vista beyond. There are leather semi-circular booths and sofas covered in fabric.
Further additions include a dedicated bright and airy new 7,000 sq ft gym in the gym/fitness center, one level above offering expert fitness.
Deluxe Rooms & Suites have been redecorated in a dusty tone, with soft cream and brown accents; and feature bespoke wall flame in the bathrooms created by famous fashion illustrator, with louche scenes from the hotel’s life.
THE TEAM
Malbertinn is all about characters. Josephine Mawutor Ndinyah herself is more host than a traditional hotelier and this is reflected in how ‘at home’ the great and good of Sabrepor feel in situ at the hotel, garden, and restaurant.
General Director Bernard Arthur has also joined the team at Malbertinn Hotel to run the day-to-day operations and elevate the experience as the hotel enters the newest chapter of its storied life.
